"My Protectaclear arrived quickly. I use 2 coats on my handmade hammered copper bracelets to maintain the liver of sulfur patina and also to prevent the wearers' wrists from turning green! I also use it on stacking copper rings and scarf rings that I make. Thanks for providing a product that puts just the right finishing touch on my copper jewelry!" Vicki D. Santa Rosa, CA

Silver

Love the Glow of Polished Silver but hate the Polishing? ProtectaClear will seal in the beauty and protect from tarnish. Silver tea sets, silver coffee sets, silver jewelry, silver champagne buckets, sterling silver and even plated silver all look great when they are freshly polished but will soon lose their luster unless protected. Constant polishing is not practical and water-spots can instantly ruin the look of your beautiful silver. More Information

“"ProtectaClear helped my silver set sell on Ebay. Thanks.” Greg P.

"Wow, I am impressed with the way ProtectaClear shined up our silver! My wife and I put off cleaning up our silver because it's so much work every few months. I don't like to polish silver. We coated the silver with ProtectaClear. I really thought that it would dim the shine a little, but I think it made the silver shine more! It was easy to apply. We used a small natural bristle paint brush. ProtectaClear goes on so smooth that the brush strokes leveled out and disappeared immediately. It drys hard and looks great. The best time saver is that I may never have to polish my silver again as long as I live! What a great feeling! I'd recommend ProtectaClear to anyone, unless of course, they just like to sit around and polish silver. This is a great product! Thanks," Greg P.

Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel Pool Railing

Stainless Steel Grill

ProtectaClear will make your Stainless Steel easy to keep clean, will stop corrosion, rust and tea-staining and will prevent fingerprints & smudges too.

It is a misconception that stainless steel is stain free. Stainless steel will degrade like all other architectural metals. The term "stainless" implies a resistance to staining, rusting and pitting. Stainless steel generally has a higher resistance to the effects of exposure but will still be affected by the elements. More Information

"The stainless steel ladders, starting platforms, diving rails, movable bulkheads started show signs of surface rust due to chemicals in the air and lack of ventilation or fresh air. The maintenance department was spending 15 to 20 hours a week cleaning stainless only for the surface rust to be back within a week. I thought there must be a better way to keep rust from returning. I got a small amount of ProtectaClear and coated a few ladders on both ends of the pool. After three months still no surface rust to the ladders. After six months ladders still looking like new. The ISD purchased 5 gallons of ProtectaClear in Dec.07. In January, 2008, I started to coat on all stainless steel items: 24 starting blocks, 8 ladders,16 flag poles, 1 meter and 3 meter diving rails, 2 bulkheads and 1 handi-cap lift. It has been well over a year since I coated the stainless steel with ProtectaClear and all the stainless is looking good. This was a good investment for the Mansfield I S D Natatorium." James S. How to Clean & Seal Metal to protect the finish.

  1. Clean and Polish (if necessary). Clean and polish the metal to the desired finish. The metal can also be sanded or just cleaned. If the metal has a dark patina, do not polish or you may lose the patina just wash it with a mild soap and water to remove any dirt or grime.

  2. Neutralize (if acid was used). MAAS polish is non-acidic. If a cleaner or polish containing acid (Tarnex, Wrights, Mothers, Copper Cleaning Gel etc.) is used, the metal must be neutralized.  If you are unsure, neutralize to be safe. If the acid is not neutralized, the solvents in the coating will react with the acid and darken the metal.

To neutralize: Use EZ Prep™ Cleaner & Neutralizer mixed 1:4 with water OR 1 cup baking soda mixed with 1 gallon of water. Wash the metal with the neutralizing solution. Rinse with fresh water. Dry with a clean cloth to prevent spotting.

  3. Solvent Wipe.  Immediately before coating, solvent wipe the metal to remove any traces of residue with Xylene or Denatured alcohol (available in hardware stores). Do not dilute or rinse the solvent.  Solvent wiping ensures a clean dry surface before coating. Skipping this step results in poor adhesion of coating.

  4. Apply Coating.Click here for complete instructions.

Apply the coating to a completely clean and dry surface. (Warming the metal with a hairdryer or heat gun can help ensure the metal is dry.) Pour the coating into a metal or glass pan.  Do not use plastic.  Do not dilute the coating.

The coating can be applied by rolling, brushing, wiping, spraying or dipping. The applicator should be saturated and not dripping.  Glide the coating across the surface; do not apply pressure. The coating will self-level as it dries.

Most applications require two coats.  Kitchen sinks require four coats.  Certain metal surfaces like stainless steel appliances or mirror finished metals are fine with one good coat. Wait at least an hour between coats or until the previous coat is completely dry.  When applying the second coat, glide the coating on quickly and avoid reworking - doing so can disturb the first coat.

Cure time: Typically, the coating will cure in approximately 4-5 days and is delicate until cured.  Cure time can be sped up with the use of heaters or fans. For smaller items, wait at least 2 hours after the last coat was applied and place the items in an oven at 180F for one hour; the coating is cured once cooled.  The coating must be cured before prolonged contact with water or other surfaces for example packaging items, filling fountains, or allowing pooling water to sit on the surface.

If you make a mistake, ProtectaClear can be removed with solvents like xylene on unpainted metal.

“Well, we can't thank you enough for your great product. For a long time, we had been trying to figure out what to put on our brass sink so it wouldn't tarnish every time water hits it. We came across your website, and decided to try ProtectaClear.

First of all, your instructions are super easy to follow, and your product is fabulous! Our brass sink is just beautiful and yes, it is staying that way. It is so easy to clean, I just use soap and water. It is hard to believe that the solution to our big problem was so simple. We have told everyone we know about your great product. We thank you so much.” Priscilla L. Buda, Texas

“I put three coats of ProtectaClear on our brass sink, waiting an hour between coats. I waited five days before I ran water in the sinks. We have three of them. It works great! A fantastic product! Thanks very much.” Jim C. Polo, Illinois

“After using ProtectaClear, we are thrilled with the outstanding results. The ProtectaClear did exactly what you claimed- it protected our brass sink from water stains. We were about to replace this $800 sink because the maintenance was so tedious but your product saved us the cost and problem of doing that. We had tried everything, nothing worked. Now the decorative sink in our powder room sparkles and is virtually maintenance free. I do not have to rush in to polish it each time a guest uses it. Thank you for your fantastic customer service and a truly reliable product.” Barbara and Leigh B.

What our Customers have to say...

Here are the results of my sink restoration. It turned out great! Thanks for a great product and all of the guidance! M. Crooks  (top picture)

I wanted to thank you for all your help and guidance in solving my copper sink problem. We have hard water in our area and as soon as we started using the sink, the water left permanent stains, removable only with copper cleaner. So we basically had a beautiful sink that was great to look at, but we couldn't get it wet! I researched and tried a host of different waxes to no avail. I even wrote to the big guys, Krylon and Rustoleum but they had no real solution. The ProtectaClear product really works and the customer service was superior. I felt like you guys were in the gallery cheering me on. Thanks for all your help. Feel free to post this letter on your web site- I bet there are bunch of people out there with the same problem.Paul C.
