Is your metal siding chalking?

Have you ever been embarrassed when you or your guests brushed up against your siding only to have chalky oxidation on your clothes? Chalky, metal siding is harder to keep clean, dust and dirt will stick on the chalk and is difficult to wash off, taking away from the appearance of your home.

Do you live near the ocean?

Living by the ocean is wonderful, walks on the beach, beautiful sunsets and other special reasons why you love the ocean. Unfortunately, salt air causes ugly corrosion, rust and pitting on metal siding. You can stop the corrosion, and make your property more valuable. Paint will not stop salt corrosion on metal siding.

Are you selling your home and need to improve the curb appeal?

Your realtor will tell you that curb appeal is the most important thing that attracts buyers. If your siding looks new, it will greatly improve the curb appeal, allowing you to sell your home faster and get the price you want.

If you don't do anything the paint on your siding can go down to the bare metal and then it will be too late. You won't have a choice.

So, If painting metal siding is not a good idea, then what is the answer?

Everbrite Coating is a tough, durable Clear Protective Coating that will restore the color and finish of your metal siding to look new again and will seal and protect it from corrosion and oxidation. Your siding will be so easy to maintain and will resist dirt and dust. You will be so proud of your "new" siding.

How can I tell if Everbrite™ Coating will restore my siding?

You can test your siding first to see if Everbrite Coating will restore the color and luster. Clean an area of your siding with a mild detergent like dish soap and water with a scrub pad to remove any chalk. Rinse well and observe your siding when it is clean and STILL wet. Everbrite Coating will restore the color and luster to look like it does when the siding is clean and still wet.

  • Everbrite™ will protect your siding from sun fading, salt air corrosion, rust, moisture and other damaging elements. Maintenance on your home makes it more valuable.

  • Economical - Have new looking, easy to care for siding for about 15 - 20 cents a square foot.

The best way to figure how much you need is to figure out one wall at a time. Multiply the width by the height. If the wall is 60 feet long and is 10 feet tall, that is 600 feet. If the front of your home is 24 feet by 10 feet, that is 240 feet. Add 2 walls of 600 feet and 2 walls of 240 feet minus window space. The total wall space would be 1,480 square feet minus an average of 300 sq. ft. of window space.

You can also refinish garage doors, sheds, awnings, railings, window extrusions, and many other items. Wood siding or repainted surfaces tend to use more, so you may want to purchase a little extra.

Is My Siding Too Far Gone?

Repainted metal siding can bubble and peel due to moisture penetrating between the layers of paint. Everbrite cannot restore paint that is not there. Once the paint is gone, it is too late, then the siding must be painted. These problems can be avoided by protecting your paint with Everbrite.

If your siding is just chalky and faded or only a tiny bit of aluminum is showing through at the edges or on a scrape, Everbrite can still restore your siding.

In order to repaint and have the paint properly adhere to your siding, the siding must be completely cleaned and all of the chalk must be removed. If you paint over chalk, the paint will peel. Once the siding is clean, use paint that is especially made for metal. There are DTM (Direct to Metal) paints available. Once the paint is completely cured, Everbrite can protect the paint. Some paints take up to 2 months to completely cure. If paint that is not cured is coated with anything else before it is cured, it can cause the paint to lose adhesion.
