Auto Painted Metal

Protecting Your Wheels

Nothing kills the look of a nice set of wheels or polished trim faster than corrosion. Brake dust, road salt, and everyday grime don’t just make your vehicle look dirty—they actually eat away at the finish. Over time, wheels get pitted, chrome loses its shine, and stainless turns dull.

The good news? You don’t have to settle for constant polishing or expensive replacements. With the right prep and the right protection, you can lock in that freshly polished look for years.

One of the worst things for your wheels to encounter is brake dust. Brake dust can eat away at your wheels and is the single most destructive thing for them. This process happens inside the wheels and can be very damaging.  Brake dust is a fine powder residue created from the brake rotor wearing away the brake pads. The pads contain carbon fibers, various graphite, steel, iron, copper shavings and an acidic adhesive. It is very sticky and collects in every nook and cranny of the wheel.

If allowed to sit on your wheels, the highly corrosive brake dust can pit the metal. Brake dust leaves gummy deposits that are hard to remove. Be wary of highly acidic cleaners because they can damage the finish on your wheels.

You can protect your wheels from corrosion and oxidation and keep them looking great with ProtectaClear. We recommend this coating because of the mirror-polished finish of the rims.

  • ProtectaClear is NOT a wax but is a tough, clear protective coating that will protect your aluminum, chrome or alloy wheels from corrosion and oxidation.

  • ProtectaClear is crystal clear, is a one-part, self-leveling coating that is easy to apply and is tough enough to keep your wheels looking great even if you drive through corrosive salts in the winter.

  • Two coats of ProtectaClear are recommended on wheels to provide excellent protection.

  • ProtectaClear is easy to apply, can easily be removed for reapplication. ProtectaClear will blend to itself so re-coating is easy.

  • The coating is not thick and plastic-looking but makes the metal look like it is freshly polished.

Is Winter Attacking Your Wheels?

Winter can be one of the most detrimental times for your wheels, as well as metal surfaces on your car, truck or bike. Road salts and snow removal chemicals can corrode, pit or stain your wheels, chrome bumpers and other metal.

Don’t let winter damage your wheels any longer—protect them from Road Salts with ProtectaClear. ProtectaClear is a clear protective coating that is tough and durable, is highly resistant to salts and chlorines and will keep the metal on your ride looking freshly polished. Metal protected with ProtectaClear will clean up easily with mild soap and water.

How to Restore Wheels

How to Clean an Protect Your Wheels

  1. Clean thoroughly with soap and water (use ERW-XL for heavy build-up).

  2. Dry completely—moisture prevents good adhesion.

  3. Solvent wipe with acetone or 99% alcohol to help with adhesion.

  4. Apply two thin coats of ProtectaClear with a lint-free applicator.

  5. Let cure—then drive with confidence.

Restore and Protect Faded Automotive Hard Plastic

Over time, constant sun exposure can cause your car's exterior plastic trim to fade, turning it from a deep black to a chalky gray. This not only detracts from your vehicle's appearance but also exposes the plastic to further decay. Everbrite coating is a simple, long-lasting solution to restore the original look and provide a durable, UV-resistant shield.

The Problem with Faded Plastic Trim

Your car's hard plastic parts, such as bumpers, side moldings, mirror casings, and window trim, are made with polymers that break down when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. This process causes the color to fade and the surface to become brittle. Temporary solutions like oily dressings or protectants often wash off and require frequent reapplication, leaving you in a continuous cycle of maintenance.

How to Restore Faded Trim with Everbrite

Our process is designed for a permanent restoration that won't wash off.

  1. Clean the Surface Thoroughly: Before applying the coating, the plastic trim must be completely clean and free of all dirt, grime, and any old dressings. Use a degreaser and scrub with a brush to get deep into the texture. Rinse well and allow the trim to dry completely.

  2. Perform a Solvent Wipe: For a perfect bond, wipe the surface with a clean cloth dampened with denatured alcohol or Xylene. This step removes any remaining residue and ensures the plastic is ready for the coating.

  3. Apply the Everbrite Coating: Using a clean applicator pad or foam brush, apply a single, thin coat of the Everbrite coating. The product will absorb into the pores of the plastic, instantly bringing back the rich, black color.

  4. Let it Dry: Allow the coating to dry for a few hours. A single coat is often sufficient, but you can apply a second coat after 24 hours for added durability and a deeper finish.

Why Choose Everbrite for Plastic Restoration?

  • Long-Lasting: Unlike temporary dressings, our coating creates a hard, durable layer that will not wash off or streak in the rain.

  • True Color Restoration: Instantly restores the original color of faded plastic trim, making it look new again.

  • UV Protection: The coating contains powerful UV inhibitors that shield the plastic from future sun damage, preventing the fading from reoccurring for years.

  • Cost-Effective: One application provides years of protection, saving you money and time on constant reapplication of temporary products.

Protect Your Investment: Coatings for Trailers and RVs

Whether you own a vintage Airstream, a rugged horse trailer, a compact teardrop, or a spacious fifth wheel, protecting your trailer from the elements is essential. Trailers face constant exposure to road grime, UV radiation, and environmental pollutants, leading to oxidation, fading, and corrosion. At Everbrite Coatings our advanced protective coatings are designed to maintain the appearance and extend the life of all types of trailers.

Preserve and Protect All Trailer Types

Our specialized coatings offer superior protection for a diverse range of trailers, ensuring they remain in top condition for years to come.

Horse Trailers & Livestock Haulers

  • Problem Solved: Horse trailers are exposed to unique challenges, including animal waste, road salts, and frequent washing. These can lead to premature corrosion and dull finishes on aluminum and painted surfaces.

  • Our Solution: Our clear, durable coatings seal surfaces, making them easier to clean and providing a robust barrier against corrosive elements and abrasion. This extends the life of both painted and unpainted metal components.

Airstream & Vintage Travel Trailers

  • Problem Solved: Iconic Airstream trailers are known for their polished aluminum, which is prone to oxidation, hazing, and dullness from UV exposure and environmental fallout.

  • Our Solution: Everbrite and ProtectaClear are perfect for restoring and preserving that signature mirror-like finish. Our coatings protect the aluminum from further oxidation, keeping it bright and requiring less frequent polishing.

Teardrop & Compact Travel Trailers

  • Problem Solved: Even smaller trailers, often made with lightweight aluminum or composite materials, can suffer from paint fading, surface scratches, and general wear from outdoor storage and road travel.

  • Our Solution: Our protective layers enhance gloss, provide UV resistance, and create a smooth, easy-to-clean surface, ensuring your compact trailer looks great on every adventure.

Fifth Wheels & Large RV Trailers

  • Problem Solved: Large RVs and fifth wheels present a vast surface area exposed to the elements, making them highly susceptible to chalking, fading paint, and water spotting on their fiberglass and metal components.

  • Our Solution: Our coatings rejuvenate dulled surfaces, restoring color and shine, and provide a long-lasting protective shield against weathering, reducing maintenance efforts for these large vehicles.

Common Issues Our Coatings Address for Trailers

Regardless of the trailer type, these are the universal problems our coatings effectively solve:

  • Aluminum Oxidation: Preventing the white, chalky appearance on unpainted aluminum surfaces.

  • Paint Fading & Chalking: Restoring and protecting the vibrancy of painted trailer exteriors.

  • Rust & Corrosion: Creating a barrier against moisture and salt that leads to rust on steel components, hitches, and frames.

  • Ease of Cleaning: Making trailer surfaces smoother and non-porous, so dirt, grime, and environmental contaminants rinse off easily.

Classic Cars, Antique Autos & Rat rods

HR_Car_Protected_With_ProtectaClear.jpg

At Everbrite Coatings, we understand that classic cars and antiques are more than just vehicles—they are a piece of history. Over time, factors like moisture, road salt, and UV rays can cause rust, corrosion, and fading, which diminish the value and integrity of these cherished automobiles. Our protective coatings are specifically designed to preserve your investment and keep its original charm.

Common Problems We Solve for Classic Cars

We know the specific challenges of maintaining vintage vehicles. Here are the most common issues our coatings address:

  • Rust on Undercarriage and Frame: Rust is the arch-nemesis of classic cars. Our coatings create a clear, durable barrier that seals out moisture and prevents future rust from developing on critical structural components.

  • Corroded Chrome and Trim: Pitting and tarnish on chrome bumpers, trim, and emblems are common. Our ProtectaClear product is ideal for restoring and sealing these parts, protecting them from oxidation without altering their appearance.

  • Faded Painted Surfaces: The original paint on classic cars often loses its luster. Our coatings can be applied over paint to restore a deep, vibrant finish and protect it from sun damage for years to come.

The Ultimate Guide to Protecting Your Patina

For those who embrace the rugged, time-worn look of their vehicle, we offer specialized solutions for "patina" finishes. A true patina—the beautiful result of natural aging—is a delicate finish that requires protection to prevent it from turning into destructive rust. Everbrite coating allows you to lock in that authentic look while preventing further decay.

How to Protect Your Patina Finish

  1. Clean Thoroughly: Start by washing the vehicle to remove all dirt and debris. Use a non-abrasive cleaner to avoid damaging the finish.

  2. Neutralize Existing Rust: For any soft rust or bubbling, you may need to gently remove it and neutralize the area with a rust converter before application.

  3. Apply a Everbrite Coating: Our coatings can be applied directly over the cleaned and dried patina finish. This creates a transparent seal that stops further rust and preserves the unique look.

A: With proper surface preparation and application, our coatings can provide years of protection, typically 5-10 years or more, even with continuous outdoor exposure, depending on environmental conditions and maintenance.

Q: Can I apply this myself, or do I need a professional?

A: Our coatings are designed for DIY application. We provide detailed instructions and support to help you achieve professional-quality results on your own.
