Protecting all of your boat's surfaces

Marine environments and weather can damage most boat surfaces. Your boat may need protection from these elements to keep it looking brand new for years to come, Everbrite Coatings will stop corrosion and keep your boat looking great year round.

Everbrite coatings, including ProtectaClear and CrobialCoat, can be used on various parts of your boat or in marine environments due to their protective properties and suitability for harsh conditions. All Everbrite coatings are UV stable, contain powerful antioxidants to protect against tarnish, oxidation, and corrosion, and are generally suitable for marine and ocean environments.

Where to use Everbrite - Painted, Anodized, Fiberglass, and Rusted Surfaces:

  • Painted, Powder-Coated & Anodized Metals: Recommended for these surfaces because it restores the color and luster of faded surfaces. Everbrite coating also contains UV Blockers that protect paint colors from fading and chalking (e.g., boat siding, window frames, metal roofs, trailers, aluminum components).

  • Fiberglass: Suitable for fiberglass surfaces, restoring color and luster, especially on weathered fiberglass (e.g., boat hulls). It is treated similar to a painted metal surface.

  • Hard Plastics & Resin: Can be used on hard plastics and resin components of a boat.

  • Antennae: Has no effect on RF signals and can be used to protect metal antennae on your boat.

Where to use ProtectaClear- High-Use, Polished, or Stainless Steel Surfaces:

  • Highly Polished Metals: Recommended for mirror-polished or highly polished surfaces such as pontoon boats, tuna towers, masts, engine parts, chrome bumpers, and any highly polished metal, as it maintains clarity and shine.

  • Stainless Steel: Excellent for all grades of stainless steel (e.g., 304 and marine-grade 316) to protect against rust, corrosion (especially from salt and chlorine), and fingerprints.

  • High-Use & Abuse Areas: Ideal for surfaces that get a lot of handling or abrasion, such as railings, trailer wheels, hardware, and walkable metal surfaces on a boat.

  • Salt Corrosion Resistance: ProtectaClear contains special resins that provide extra resistance to salts and chlorines, making it particularly effective in marine environments.

  • Electrical Components: Its non-conductive nature makes it suitable for circuit boards and copper wire (protects against H2S gas) to prevent tarnishing and maintain conductivity.

  • Exotic Woods: Can be used on exotic hardwoods like Teak.

Where to use CrobialCoat - Surfaces Requiring Antimicrobial Protection:

  • All ProtectaClear Features: CrobialCoat offers all the benefits and durability of ProtectaClear.

  • Built-in Antimicrobial: Contains silver ion antimicrobial technology that lasts the life of the coating, reducing bacterial growth by 99%.

  • Stops the growth of mold, mildew and algae in moist environments. Apply to surfaces prone to buildup of these microbes.

Customer Reviews for Marine Projects

“Everbrite Coating has helped transform my 23-year-old sailboat. It’s now looking like a well-kept and fairly new boat instead of the faded antique that it was!”

Frequently Asked Marine Questions

Do these coatings prevent common boat-related issues like fading and rust?

Absolutely. Everbrite coatings prevent UV damage, including the fading and chalking of paint colors. They also prevent corrosion from salt air, acid rain, and rusting, as well as general tarnish and oxidation. Surfaces protected with Everbrite coatings will also be much easier to keep clean, as dirt, fingerprints, and even marine growth will have difficulty adhering.

Are the coatings non-conductive, and does this benefit boat metals?

Yes, all Everbrite coatings are non-conductive. This property is beneficial on a boat as it helps reduce static electricity and prevents damage from electrolysis, a common issue for different metals in contact in a marine environment.

How long will the coating last on a boat before needing to be reapplied?

The longevity depends on use and abuse, application quality, the substrate, and sun exposure. For marine items, expect 1-2 years with use and abuse before a maintenance coat might be needed.  Recoating is easy: if the original coating is still intact, simply wash the surface with a mild soap and water, dry, and reapply. The coatings are self-annealing and will blend to themselves.

How do I clean surfaces after they've been coated?

  • Once coated, surfaces are much easier to clean. Use water, or a mild soap and water solution.

  • Avoid solvent-based cleaners, petroleum distillates, alcohols, abrasives, or citrus-based cleaners.

  • Windex, 409, or a bleach-and-water solution (for sanitization) are generally safe to use.
