Seal Rusted Metal or Corten

Seal rusted metal to prevent drips and stains.

Love the way rusted metal looks but hate the drips and stains? Everbrite will seal in the look of rusted metal to stop drips and stains from ruining buildings, clothes and sidewalks.. More Information

Rusted metal is porous so care must be taken to ensure that the metal is completely clean and dry. Blooming rust should be knocked down and a solvent used to help remove contaminants like grease or oils and the solvent will help draw out moisture.
Coating and sealing moisture in the pores of metal can cause failure of any coating.

Everbrite Protective Coating provides the following benefits to rusted metal with every application:

  • Eliminate staining of surrounding areas from unsightly runoff and stains. Rusty drips on other substrates can ruin the look of a building.
  • Eliminate transfer of rust to people (hands & clothing).
  • Extend the life of the steel by protecting from further corrosion.
  • Give the surface a more finished, purposeful look.
  • Excellent adhesion on naturally or artificially rusted surfaces.
  • Everbrite is self annealing and will blend to itself to create complete protection.
  • Everbrite is available in a Clear finish and a Satin finish

Everbrite will seal rusted metal to prevent further corrosion and will prevent rust stains. On most metals, two coats of Everbrite Clear Protective Coating are recommended. On rusted metal, raw steel or rusted metal, 3 to 4 coats are recommended because the metal is very porous. Enough coats of Everbrite should be applied so the top of the rust is covered. The deeper the rust, the more coating is needed to cover. Everbrite will seal the metal and will look great for years and can be maintained indefinitely. The metal MUST be completely dry before applying the coating.

"Hello, I have used Everbrite, and it was a HUGE SUCCESS!! My husband and I tore down an old barn that has been in the family for years and salvaged the wood and tin. I used Everbrite to seal the tin from the roof (it was beautifully rusted and aged) so I could use it for my backsplash in our new home we just built on the family farm. The coverage was perfect, ease of use was amazing, and the final finish is stunning!! Thank you for making a product that actually does what it says it will do!! I am one HAPPY CUSTOMER. Thank you so much!!!!" Angie C.

How to Clean & Seal Metal to protect the finish.

Apply the coating to a completely clean and dry surface. Pour the coating into a metal or glass pan. Do not use plastic. Do not dilute the coating.

Everbrite can be applied by rolling, brushing, wiping, spraying or dipping. The applicator should be saturated and not dripping. Glide the coating across the surface; do not apply pressure. The coating will self-level as it dries.

Most applications require two coats. Rusted metal and raw steel will require additional coats. Wait at least an hour between coats or until the previous coat is completely dry. When applying the second coat, glide the coating on quickly and avoid reworking - doing so can disturb the first coat.

Cure time: Typically, the coating will cure in approximately 4-5 days and is delicate until cured. Cure time can be sped up with the use of heaters or fans. For smaller items, wait at least 2 hours after the last coat was applied and place the items in an oven at 180F for one hour; the coating is cured once cooled. The coating must be cured before prolonged contact with water or other surfaces for example packaging items, filling fountains, or allowing pooling water to sit on the surface.

If you make a mistake, Everbrite can be removed with solvents like xylene on unpainted metal.

Complete instructions come with every order. An applicator and a pair of disposable nitrile gloves are also included.

Everbrite is a product that not only is user friendly but also beautiful when complete. The cleaning concentrate does clean the oxidation and mildew. Following the easy directions, it did a great job. I chose to use a white lint free cloth for application and was amazed at how easy the Everbrite can be applied. Our aluminum siding again looks as it should. Thank you for a wonderful protective finish. Sincerely, Jim ~Leah K.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know, how happy I am with the results I got from your product. I ordered the Everbrite kit to try on my faded, moss green Steel garage doors. In less than 2 hours I cleaned and coated 4, 8x8 single doors. I think I'm going to use the rest on my faded fiberglass boat!
~Scott Milligan

Hello. Thanks for your follow-up. I received the product and my garage door looks great! Thanks!! It's been a pleasure doing business with your company. My neighbor across the street asked me what I did to my door. I gave him your website and he's going to buy some also for his door!!
~Regards, Jerry

Hi- just want you to know that the Everbrite product I ordered arrived here promptly. I am very happy with the results. My (bright yellow)aluminum siding shines like new. Very noticeable where I couldn't quite reach to apply it. (Gable ends of the house.) But that's quite alright. I should tell you that I am a 78 year old grandma, and had absolutely no problems rejuvenating the look of my house.
~Thank you. Marty Wasker

The steel siding that I had installed on my house in 1984 was guaranteed against everything except fading, the fading part it did quite well. I tried for several years to find something that would work to clean it with, but nothing ever seemed to work. I was searching the internet one day and came upon your site. I order the starter kit to see if it would work, I was so impressed with your product, I ordered two more quarts of the Everbrite to finish up the south and east side of my house. Your produce saved me from either have to replace all the siding or paint it, neither one of those options appealed very much to me. Thanks for a great product.

How do I know if Everbrite is the right coating for my project?

Everbrite is recommended for restoring architectural metal, painted or powdercoated metal, anodized aluminum. Everbrite will seal rusted metal to stop drips and stains and will stop tarnish on copper roofs, gutters, monuments and more.

You can first test your painted metal roof to see if it can be restored. Clean an area with soap and water with a sponge or scrub pad. Observe the aluminum while it is clean and still wet. If the color and luster return, then your roof can be restored to look great again.

What our Customers have to say...

"The Everbrite worked fantastic. We have our first two wind sculptures at a small gallery in out town and they look beautiful. I was amazed how Everbrite made the copper colors pop.
Thanks!"
Janelle S.

"I have been wanting to get back with you and let you know how happy I have been with your product. I have purchased your Everbrite in the aerosol can a couple times, for specific copper projects. The results are fantastic! One Project in particular was a custom copper bird bath. The customer wanted the bath to stay bright and not change color. Everbrite was my answer. I would recommend your product to anyone who is looking for the results that I have had. Thanks a lot! Sincerely,"
