Everbrite is a clear, hard, protective coating that not only restores hard plastic back to the original factory finish and feel, but also protects the surface with its unique built-in fade stop formulation with UV blockers and salt protection.  Everbrite is guaranteed not to yellow or discolor. Everbrite is a crystal clear coating that remains flexible so it is also guaranteed not to crack or peel. Everbrite is long-lasting and can be maintained indefinitely.

Everbrite is available in gloss and satin finishes. Everbrite is not sticky or oily. Once it is cured, it looks and feels like brand new plastic.

The shine will last for about a year or two on hard plastic and can be maintained indefinitely by recoating. Everbrite will blend to itself so you do not need to remove the coating to reapply a maintenance coat.

How to Restore Hard Plastic

PREPARATION

Thorough preparation is very important. If you try to take shortcuts on preparation, you will likely not achieve the intended results and may need to remove the coating and start again. The article to be coated must be scrupulously clean and completely dry before applying the coating.

Cleaning removes dirt and grime plus chalky oxidation, wax or grease that may be on the surface, so the coating can adhere properly.

1.Wash the plastic with EZ Prep Cleaner or mild soapy water removing ALL previous coatings, grease, dirt, wax and silicones. It is advised to use a Prep Pad or a soft scrubbing brush to clean textured areas.

2.Rinse the area well, ensuring that all cleaners and residue are removed. A good test is to look at the surface when it is wet. How it looks when it is wet is how it will look when coated. If more cleaning is required, repeat Step 1 & 2 until all contamination and oxidization is removed.

3.Allow the surface to dry completely.

PREPARING THE COATING

SATIN finishes – The flatting agent in the coating will settle. You MUST stir or shake Satin well for a few minutes each time before applying. Failure to mix well before you start and frequently throughout the application period may result in a streaky and uneven finish. (There is NO requirement to stir the clear finish.) Do NOT thin the coatings. Do not shake aerosol cans.

APPLICATION OF COATING

Apply the coating to a completely dry surface. Warming the plastic with heat gun or hair dryer will help ensure plastic is dry. Allow to cool before coating.

1.Pour the coating into clean, dry, metal or glass pan.

2.Submerge applicator pad or lint free cloth completely into the coating. Gently squeeze out just the excess. Applicator should be saturated but not dripping. This is important as dry areas in the applicator can cause streaks.

3.Rub the coating onto the plastic and into the texture, it is important that the coating is thin, yet thoroughly rubbed into the plastic.

4.Let the coating dry completely. If you see an area you missed, let it dry and then coat over the missed area. Wait at least one hour between coats or until the previous coat is completely dry.

5.Apply a second coat; two coats are recommended for lasting protection. Everbrite coatings are self-annealing; meaning the second coat will become part of the first coat.

DRY & CURE TIME: The coating will be dry in an hour (several coats may take longer). Dry coating is still delicate until cured. Heat and air circulation help speed curing. Under normal circumstances & with good ventilation, coating is generally cured after 4-5 days. Wait until cured before prolonged contact with other surfaces or packaging. Allow a minimum of two weeks cure time before letting water sit/pool on the coated surface, immersing in water or filling sinks/fountains, etc. In most cases, dew or rain does not hurt the coating once it is dry for 3-4 hours. You can shorten cure time by gently heating the coating AFTER it is dry to the touch. Dry, coated items placed in a low temperature oven (140°F -180°F) for 1 hour will be cured when cooled. Larger items can be placed direct sunlight to speed curing.

AFTER CARE: Do NOT use solvent or citrus based cleaners or abrasives to clean coated surface. Do not use cleaners with petroleum distillates. Suggested cleaners: Mild soap and water or similar mild cleaners.

MAINTENANCE & LONGEVITY: Once coated, the coating is easy to maintain. As long as the original coating is still intact, wash the surface with a mild dish soap and water, dry well, and recoat. It is best to recoat before any tarnish or oxidation is seen or at the first sight of slight color change. The longevity of the coating is dependent on proper application of the coating, it’s environment, and general use and abuse. See website Maintenance Instructions.

SHELF LIFE OF COATING: Our Clear coating has an indefinite shelf life if stored in an air tight metal or glass container. Keep any extra coating for touch ups. We recommend cleaning the threads of the container before reattaching the lid. The Satin finish coating will settle, eventually becoming difficult to mix well due to the flatting agent.

COATING REMOVAL: Coating can be removed with a solvent like Xylene or a Xylene substitute. Care needs to be taken when removing coating; contact customer service (916) 852-0200.
